I’m a super hero!

Last year I did such a cool photo shoot with the amazing photographer Kike San Martin. He is well known for putting together action images and let me tell you this was no easy shoot!

He didn’t tell me we were doing this set until the end of our shoot and when I saw him take out the harness I almost had a panic attack! But once I was in the air and I understood the concept he had in his mind, I got so excited! I had to balance my body just right with out losing emotion on my face. By the end my abs were on fire but I have to say hands down best work out of my life! I had so much fun and so happy with how this shoot came out. I hope you guys enjoy the pics as much as I did shooting it :o)

Melissa

Award Season is just getting started with the SAG AWARDS 2012!

As I watched the red carpet moments happen Sunday night I was itching to begin writing my blog. Although the theme of the evening seemed to be on the simple side; which as many of you know, I’m not a fan off because I feel red carpet moments should never be simple; I have to say, I enjoyed this little change.

Here are my top 10 looks:

Viola Davis in Marchesa: She was just GLOWING! Of course Marchesa designed this gorgeous Greek goddess inspired gown with such delicate gold detailing on the bodice which I absolutely LOVE and the empire waist flowing fabric made her look so beautiful as she made her way down the carpet. Her hair and accessories were on point and she looked fabulous! She was my favorite of the night!

Sofia Vergara in Marchesa: Marchesa just keeps killing it this award season! First off, this color is UNBELIEVEABLE! Ive never seen such a perfect elegant shade of pink and fushia mix on a fabric. Sofia definitely knows what colors suit her and this one is perfection. Her soft simple up-do and makeup paired up nicely with the choice of dress and the Lorraine Schwartz jewels could not have been more perfect. The fact she chose to wear jewels that shared the same tone of color as her dress just put the cherry on top on the whole look. She looked stunning!

Emma Stone in Alexander McQueen: McQueen is just pure genius. Although I wouldn’t wear this dress just because its too cutesy for my taste, this dress fit Emma and her personality so well. She knew how to carry this dress and wear it well. The detail on the boudice is so gorgeous and the dress flowed so elegantly. Her choice of hair and makeup was perfect! The side bangs with an up-do gave a little edge yet 60’s feel to this look. Very beautiful.

Rose Byrne in Ellie Saab: OK, I know this outfit is mostly on every one’s worst dressed list but I don’t care I’m OBSESSED with this jumpsuit! My goodness the detailing is insane! Which you guys know is my weakness I’m a sucker for the details lol The fact that its a jumpsuit makes this look so trendy yet elegant. I have to disagree with the choice of hair I think it was too blunt for this look I would have kept it simple with a very subtle up-do pony tail to showcase the jumpsuit. This was one of my favorite looks of the night.

Stacy Keibler in Marchesa: Nothing is more sexy yet classy than lace. It’s everything! It was nice to see such beautiful lace work done by Marchesa and Stacy wore this dress so beautifully. I think she could have worn another color black didn’t suit her very well but her choice of hair, make up and accessories went flawlessly with her dress especially her best accessory George Clooney ;o)

Jayma Mays in Reem Acra: WOW! The black sequin is perfection! It moved so effortlessly while Jayma showed off this gorgeous gown. This was a major show stopper in my eyes. The high neck line and cap sleeve kept it classy while her soft up-do and smokey eyes gave us a sweet with an edge look that complimented this dress. Ive never seen her look so great!

Ariel Winter in Collette Dinnigan: How adorable is she?! I’m such a big fan of Modern Family and an even bigger fan of this dress! It was age appropriate yet showed us this girl has the power to go glam! Of course the details on the bodice was just so well done not too much just perfect paired with the lace skirt went so well together along with her hair and makeup gave her whole look such an innocence and I think she looked totally fab!

Natalie Portman in Giambattista Valli: She just always looks so delicate and beautiful on the red carpet. I love the color of this dress it’s very strong and blunt which gave the dress some life. I would have like to see her hair down wearing this dress but her earrings did bring a beautiful touch to her look.

Angelina Jolie in Jenny Packham: Very trendy for an award show but I still like it. The cut of the front of the dress was a little to heavy for my taste, I would have liked it to be less fabric since the skirt followed that same pattern till the end but I thought her hair and those AMAZING earrings were absolutely perfect with this dress I wouldn’t have done it any other way!

Jessica Chastin in Calvin Klein: She is really starting to come into her own! Although this is extremely simple for me she wore it very well. Very sleek and simple with that gorgeous blue went so well with her fair skin and red hair. I think she shined!

Hope you guys enjoyed my picks on the 2012 SAG Awards! See you next time to review my favorite red carpet of the year, The Oscars!

Kisses,

Melissa

Happy Award Season everyone! Lets start with the Golden Globes 2012!

The best time of year is upon us and all the best and worse moments in fashion step out on the most glamorous nights of the year. I don’t dwell on the worse dressed, simply because I just don’t like to relive those not so cute moments on the red carpet so I only wanted to review the best and most fabulous of the night.

I decide who has the “Fab Factor” at the Golden Globes and I’m not just reviewing fabulous dresses but the hair, makeup and accessories have to be right. An outfit can go all wrong with out the whole package. Here are my top 10 best dressed.

My absolute FAVORITE choice of the night has to be:

Kate Beckinsale in Roberto Cavalli. OH MY GOD she looked stunning! Her look was very feminine and sleek but totally glamorous. The dress fit her like a glove and her picked up pony tail with the Lorraine Schwartz earrings gave her a trendy edge to such a feminine gown.

Charlize Theron in Dior. Charlize is one of those girls who doesn’t have to try hard to look beautiful. Her choice to wear this amazing Dior gown made her look glamours with a hint of innocence by pairing this dramatic gown with very light simple makeup and a soft updo with crystal headband. She was glowing on the carpet.

Lea Michele in Marchesa. OK I just have to say this is why I’m OBSSESSED with Marchesa! Marchesa has to be one of my favorite designers of all time. I think if I ever wear a Marchesa I could die and be happy lol Marchesa just knows how to do detail so flawlessly. I can never get enough of detail! Lea’s dress was pure perfction sexy, edgy and very fabulous. Her hair and make up fit the theme she was going for with this dress and it fit her body very well.

Jessica Alba in Gucci. That TRAIN! I love a good train on a dress and this one was perfect! The sheer fabric that effortlessly moved as she walked on the red carpet made her look like she was floating down the red carpet. Again detail detail detail I cant get enough! This dress brought so much detail. Her hair makeup and accessories went very well with this sleek dress.

Shailene Woodley in Marchesa. Another hit by Marchesa the detail of course is perfection and the simplicity of the color made Shailene glow. I have to disagree with her choice of make up and hair, it was a bit too natural for this dress but she did look beautiful.

Nicole Richie in Julien Macdonald. I am such a fan of Nicole Richie and her fashion taste. This was a home run in all aspects. Hair makeup accessories and that fabulous dress! She looked edgy and trendy with the feathered bangs and the designs of the sequins on her dress. She always knows how to put together the best looks.

Selma Hayek in Gucci. The design of this dress is so well done. It almost looks like an Aztec dress with the bold gold beading on the top and continuing down the dress with black detail. I like the way she paired her hair and jewels with this dress but I have to say I feel like this trendy edgy look is too young for her but she did put the look together well.

Sophia Vergara in Vera Wang. This gown screams Vera all over it. When I saw her on the carpet I knew it was a Vera creation. The color is gorgeous! This color  pops so well on Sophia and makes her stand out on the carpet. I did not like her choice of hair. Too simple for this look. Although her jewels from Harry Winston just gave her look the cherry on top. Very fabulous!

Jessica Chastin in Givenchy. This gown was so appropriate for Jessica. She looked so elegant in this gown. Again I couldn’t get enough of the detail which is why I had to put this dress on my list. Her personality shined through this dress. She set the perfect example of a dress not wearing her she wore this dress perfectly.

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace. Angelina can never have a bad red carpet moment. She always looks like an elegant swan. Although I’m not a fan of the two tone colors, she did wear it well and I like the red lips that tied the whole look together.

I would love to hear your opinions on the dresses and looks I chose and the ones you loved!

Kisses,

Melisa

A look back at 2011

Before the clock strikes 12 tonight I look back at 2011. For me, 2011 was the year to learn and grow as an individual. Their we’re great times but many tough times. I am very happy and blessed all the medical scares we had this year turned out good at the end and for that I thank God every day for a healthy family. Business was tough this year more than others as it was for many people but we managed to pull through and continue to survive. One of my best friends got married to the love of her life this year in the beautiful state of Arkansas that humbled me and reminded me of a simple wonderful way of living. Sometimes living in a big city and living a busy life you tend to get lost in your own world and loose sight of the more simple things in life. In which this trip opened my eyes and heart and reminded me to take the time to smell the roses. Another great thing about 2011 was the many opportunities that came into my life in the last few months of the year. One of them was my first national commercial for Walmart that aired on all Latin networks during the holidays. That was so special for me because my grandparents (who only speak Spanish) got to see my work on the channels they watch lol. Their excitement meant more to me than they will every know. I felt like I made them proud.

I am grateful and blessed in so many ways to have a beautiful healthy life with an amazing family who loves and supports me unconditionally. No matter the struggles and tough times I am grateful for those moments because they make me stronger and more focused so I never loose sight of whats important and whats not. I have no regrets. Tonight will be a night of celebration. Celebration to be alive and to live in the best country in the world where we have our freedom to speak our mind and have no limits on our success and have the ability to make a fresh start and build again. We are all in control of our future and destiny. I want to thank every one who has supported me and followed me on twitter and my blog it has meant alot to me :o) I wish you all an amazing 2012 full of love and happiness. Happy New Year!

Kisses, Melissa
